The CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show is one of the Midwest’s premier aviation events, attracting 75,000+ visitors each year. With such large crowds and a dynamic schedule of performances, organizers needed a scalable, user-friendly mobile app to enhance the attendee experience and streamline event operations.
OmniSpear partnered with the Dayton Air Show to design and develop a custom mobile application, ensuring the event could provide real-time updates, interactive navigation, and valuable information—all from the palm of an attendee’s hand.
Goals
The mobile app was designed to:

- Interactive Map: Visitors could quickly locate displays, seating, restrooms, concessions, and emergency services, along with a “You Are Here” feature for easy navigation.
- Parking & Transportation: Clear maps and directions with shuttle pick-up/drop-off details improved traffic flow and reduced confusion.
- Daily Schedule: A live, scrollable schedule allowed fans to follow their favorite acts and adjust plans as updates were made in real time.
- Push Notifications: Organizers could instantly alert attendees about schedule changes, weather updates, or special announcements.
- Sponsor Recognition: A dedicated sponsor page showcased key partners with direct links, delivering added value to event sponsors.
- Feedback & Information: Built-in forms made it easy for guests to share their experiences, while quick links provided FAQs, ticketing info, and visitor guidelines.
